Our Attempted Outdoorsy Experience
On Saturday, David and I thought we would do something outdoorsy and decided to go on a hike up in Big Cottonwood Canyon (which is about 30 minutes from our house). We took Toby thinking he would love to walk around in the woods.
When we got there we were surprised to see that there was still a lot of snow on the mountain (it was 91 degrees at home). Water was pouring down the paved road and the snow was super mushy so our outdoorsy hike lasted all of 20 minutes! The good thing was it was 15 degrees cooler up there. Toby still had fun being wilderness dog if even for a moment!

Our New Car!
We bought me a new car this past weekend. After investigating different cars, we decided on a Honda Civic. I needed a car for work and David's Jeep is a gas hog! I still take the train to work (I could say that it saves on gas and the environment, but the fact is you can take the girl out of New York, but you can't take the New York out of the girl- I'm a subway girl!).
I love my new ride though!

Miss Lillie Leaves Rehab!
Today my mom was discharged from Glancy Rehab Center. She has been progressing there (in fact she stood up for 10 seconds yesterday), but she has been moved to a really nice nursing home for the remainder of her rehab or 20 days, whichever comes first!
She is very excited because she got some good food today and she is having her hair done tomorrow. She sounds like she likes it there so far.

Too Cute For Words!
Well the mama kitty moved the kittens we found in the bushes so we thought that was the last time we would see them.
Saturday afternoon David and I were heading out to do some shopping when in the field near our house we heard this little one. He was all alone and his left eye was infected (we took him to the vet). We were told by the vet to put him back where he was in case the mama cat was just moving them. She told us to keep an eye on him and if the mama did not come back before nightfall, we were to call Michelle, who worked in the vet's office and she would take him and nurse him until he could be adopted (this sweet girl already had 4 others she was nursing).
Nightfall came and this sweet little angel was still there. We called Michelle and she picked him up. I am so grateful for people who do such sweet things for animals.
PLEASE SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS! It was heartbreaking to think that this little guy might die. The vet told us not to take him to the shelter because they would kill him! She said that they kill barrels of kittens a day. Please don't let this happen to these sweet little babies!
